Children’s Ministry

An important part of the ministry life of Immanuel is helping children and their families grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. The Immanuel Kids ministry exists to teach children about God’s great love for them as they study the Bible in an engaging and imaginative way!

Children’s Church

jsb2During the school year, Children’s Church is offered for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Children’s Church 2017-2018 will be reading The Jesus Storybook Bible By: Sally Lloyd-Jones. Children will experience the vivid illustrations and animated videos that bring to life Bible stories from both the Old and New Testament. They’ll learn that every story in the Bible points to Jesus — and what that means for them! Children will rejoin the worship service during the Peace to have Communion with their families. Registration forms are available at Children’s Church or by clicking HERE.

The first Sunday of each month, Children’s Church will participate in SERVE Sunday. Kids will come to Children’s Church to learn about our calling to serve others. After our lesson, we will pack bags for Backpack For Kids. Backpack For Kids provides food bags to 15 students at King Elementary School who otherwise may not eat on the weekends and school breaks. For a food shopping list click HERE. For more information on Backpack For Kids please contact Melissa Byers or the leader of the Serve Team, Rich Garon.

Nursery

Our nursery is a kid-friendly space available for infants through preschool-age children. The nursery is staffed with professional childcare workers who love children and will keep them safe and happy while their parents are in the worship service. Each Sunday, during Nursery, the children will receive a Bible lesson and activity, play with friends and have snack time. Some parents pick up their children and bring them back to the worship service for communion. However, childcare is available throughout the entire worship service if you prefer.

Acolytes

Kids third grade through high school also serve during the worship service as acolytes. This is a fantastic way for them to join the worship ministry at an early age, serve others, and learn about the importance of worship in the church. Please contact Karen Zwanzig for more information.

Volunteers

Children’s Ministry volunteers have the opportunity to make an eternal investment in the lives of Immanuel Kids! Serving as a Sunday school teacher, classroom assistant, setup helper, and many other roles is a way to help our kids know more about Jesus Christ and his great love for them. All volunteers must have a background check and be trained in the Immanuel Ministry Safe policy. For more information about volunteering, please contact Melissa Byers.

Please see our Youth Ministry page for information concerning activities for our middle school and high schoolers.
