For most Middle and High School students, relationships are the most important thing in their life. We get that and focus on building three important relationships for our youth. First, we want them to know each other. It’s important to know that other students are thinking about faith and life – and how it all fits together in the middle of school, sports, band, activities, homework, friends, and family! Second, we want them to have strong relationships with older Christians. The men and women who volunteer with this ministry love Jesus and love our students. They are great examples of the life of faith! Finally and most importantly, we want our students to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. We want them to know that they are loved, that God is interested in them, that he has a purpose for their life, and that they can trust him with everything!
Our youth group meets a couple of times a month for fun games, good food, and a teaching about Jesus. There are also a lot of opportunities to serve people in our community and serve our church as well. See sidebar on the right of this page for the calendar of upcoming Youth Group events.
Youth in Worship
Youth at Immanuel are actively involved in the main worship service. They serve as readers, soloists, and acolytes, as well as help with ushering and set up. It is important that young disciples experience the worship of God through the reading of scripture, prayers, and communion. They also add energy and enthusiasm to worship that is inspiring to the younger children and older adults who are gathered with them.
Youth Ministry volunteers have the opportunity to make an eternal investment in the lives of our Immanuel students! Serving as a Sunday school teacher, volunteer at events, and many other roles is a way to help our students know more about Jesus Christ and his great love for them. All volunteers must have a background check and be trained in the Immanuel Ministry Safe policy. For more information about volunteering, please contact Jordan Weymouth.
