Inclement Weather Policy
Because we currently meet at Beville Middle School, Immanuel follows the weather closures of Prince William County Schools. If notice is given by PWCS that facilities and events are cancelled due to weather, our services will be cancelled as well. In the event of a cancellation, a notice will be put on our main voicemail (703-494-7621), as well as our website and Facebook page, by 6:00 a.m. Mid-week office closings and cancelled activities will be posted in the same way.
Regardless of whether or not church is cancelled, we always want you to make a decision regarding driving in inclement weather that is comfortable for you. While we miss members of our church family when they are away, we want you to be safe in bad weather!
Ideas for Family Worship at Home
While you’re at home, we encourage you to have a time of prayer and bible study with your family. On idea is this short video by Rob Bell on what it means to follow Jesus as a disciple. It is an excellent follow up to the sermon last week, and will be a tremendous encouragement to you. I think children and students will like it too! (**One note about Rob Bell: in the past few years, Bell’s theology has changed and – in my opinion – is moving away from Biblical orthodoxy. However, this video is from 2005 and is very a biblical teaching on discipleship.) In addition to the video, you can also use the Worship Preview to have worship music to listen to throughout the day.
Also, here is a link to Archbishop Foley Beach’s blog where he has short video lessons from the Bible. You can find them here.
